Poultry
Chicken
Chickens lie at the heart of any farm. Without chicken strutting around, a farm looks dead. Some of our ‘ladies’ were rescued by the RSPCA and re-homed with us. After a short period of feeding them up, a bit of tender loving care and introducing them to sunshine and the occasional cuddle they soon start cautiously strutting around a paddock. We also have other breeds such as Welsummers and Black Rock to supplement the supply of fresh eggs.
Any supplementary feeds given to our poultry are non-genetically modified and contain the essential Omega 6 and Omega 3 Oils. Our eggs have beautiful yellow yolks and go out for sale at our front gate within an hour of being laid.
Ducks
We only have 6 ducks in our fox proof pond; two Aylesbury, one Khaki Campbell and three Silver Appleyards. All six have their own characters but let them see the camera and they line up like children in a class photo.
Turkeys and Geese
Every year we raise a few geese and turkeys for Christmas and Easter. All are free range birds resulting in a beautiful tasting meat, miles better than what you can buy in the supermarkets
